We are a small no kill rescue located in Clarion, PA. We started
this rescue after hearing all the reports of unwanted reptiles being
dumped along roads by their owners or (when people can find
one)turned in to Humane Societies that are already full of dogs and
cats and may not be able to care for a reptile properly.
Along with finding new
homes for animals we
also focus on educating
reptile owner's on how
to properly care for
their reptiles. We
also try to educate the
general public about
reptiles and exotic
animals to help them
understand these
animals better.
Having kept an un-
countable number of animals over the years,
this website seemed to be the next logical step. We are not yet
registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation, but the paperwork
has been started.
We participate in educational events, including reptile expos,
birthday parties and classroom presentations, in an attempt to
educate the public about the enormous responsibility it takes to
care for these animals. With the popularity of exotic pets
skyrocketing, combined with the lack of responsibility and
research on the part of many pet owners, the need for rescue
work is only increasing. We have stepped in to do our part.
All of our animals are housed in the homes of our most qualified
Creature Program members. These members, who each have
years of reptile or exotic animal care experience, provide safe and
comfortable homes until the animals are placed with their
permanent owners.
Our main foster facility boasts over half a dozen aquariums,
terrariums, and cage habitats. More impressive is the 600 gallon
fenced-in pond and stream that provides a safe, realistic habitat
for turtles, toads and frogs. Schools of feeder fish, natural
sunlight, and a selection of live plants provide an excellent
environment for our foster and permanently housed animals.
